Plastic waste from marine environment: Demonstration of possible routes for recycling by different manufacturing technologies

چکیده
The increasing amount of marine plastic waste poses challenges including, not only the collection, but also subsequent recyclability plastic. An artificial accelerated weathering procedure was developed, which modelled environment and investigated weathered non-weathered PET. Marine conditions were simulated for poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) bottle material high-density polyethylene (HDPE) cap material. It consisted 2520 h cyclical weathering, alternating sample between a salt spray Xenon-chamber—this corresponds to roughly 3–4 years on surface an ocean. proved that molecular weight PET is function time can be described mathematically. Microscopic examination bottles HDPE caps these surfaces damaged. After manufacturing tests performed by extrusion, injection moulding, 3D printing thermoforming. Quantitative comparison products manufactured same technology in order compare qualities made from original PET, waste, example classical recycling, In case certain mechanical optical properties (e.g. impact strength transparency) significantly impaired compared recycled, Certain other rigidity) did change significantly. samples successfully recycled mechanically used manufacture products.

Sorting of plastic waste for effective recycling
Separation of plastic from various types of waste streams represents one of major problematic process in energy recovery through different thermochemical processes. The sorting of plastics is a very essential step in different waste management technique. Manual sorting is suitable when plastic component are present in large amount but it is a labor intensive process. In automated sorting techni...
متن کاملRecycling and recovery routes of plastic solid waste (PSW): a review.
Plastic solid waste (PSW) presents challenges and opportunities to societies regardless of their sustainability awareness and technological advances. In this paper, recent progress in the recycling and recovery of PSW is reviewed. A special emphasis is paid on waste generated from polyolefinic sources, which makes up a great percentage of our daily single-life cycle plastic products. The four r...
متن کاملPossibilities and limits of pyrolysis for recycling plastic rich waste streams rejected from phones recycling plants.
The possibilities and limits of pyrolysis as a means of recycling plastic rich fractions derived from discarded phones have been studied. Two plastic rich samples (⩾80wt% plastics) derived from landline and mobile phones provided by a Spanish recycling company, have been pyrolysed under N2 in a 3.5dm3 reactor at 500°C for 30min. The landline and mobile phones yielded 58 and 54.5wt% liquids, 16....
متن کاملMarine pollution. Plastic waste inputs from land into the ocean.
Plastic debris in the marine environment is widely documented, but the quantity of plastic entering the ocean from waste generated on land is unknown. By linking worldwide data on solid waste, population density, and economic status, we estimated the mass of land-based plastic waste entering the ocean. We calculate that 275 million metric tons (MT) of plastic waste was generated in 192 coastal ...
